We tried to update the firmware of an Allfine fine 10 joy tablet. Some searching showed that it contains a Rockchip processor. So I downloaded the RK batch tool, downloaded the firmware from the Allfine website and installed the USB driver (the tablet is able to connect as a mass storing device to the computer). Next, when I open the RK batch tool (as administrator!), I connect the tablet while holding down the FFM button. The tablet shows up as a green square with 1-1-2 displayed under it. As far as I can judge, this is still 100% correct. But now when I hit the button at the upper right corner (with.
On it), it and select the system.img file, it shows 'load firmware failed', as shown below. I tried all sorts of things to prevent this from happening (switched off virus scanner, lowered security setting in my account), but nothing helped.
Does anyone know what I can do to make it load the firmware? Best regards, Bas & Merijn. Dear Dexter, Thanx for your reply! We tried to use the 'switch' button, but if we start the connection with the PC by using the FFM button, and then hit 'switch', the batch tool replies with: '(layer4-2) this operation didn't do, because of not supporting!' When we connect the tablet via USB and turn on USB data communication, followed by starting the batch tool, the tablet turns up pink. Then hitting 'switch' does turn it green (but it will not turn pink again when we hit the switch button again)). Uploading the firmware when it is pink does not work here either.
Do you have any other suggestions that might help? Bas & Merijn. Dear Markus, Thanx for all of your time, really appreciate it! There is quiet some time lag between my replies, but this is due to the fact that this is my son's tablet, and since I'm devorced, he (and his tablet) are not always at my place. I checked the processor (in the (i) tab of the tablet), and it shows the following information: modelnumber: rk30sdk (this seems Rockchip to me.) Android: 4.1.1 kernel version: 3.0.8+Yanghui@Mitechsmbaserver#1035 So with this information, can you tell me if it's a Rockchip, or do you need more information (where can I find this)? Best regards, Bas & Merijn. Im a bit out of that Thread, sorry.
Yes I also thought that they will do Rockchip now, because the RK3066 is a cheap outdated Chipset and its even popular and faster then the Actions ATM7029 Quad Core. I´m sorry to ask again what you want to do. I know if you have a Tablet like this one, which is not as popular, it will be hard to get another Firmware then the Original One.
So if you need a Firmware you need it from your Seller. So if your Original FW runs good, leave it in Place and do not replace it. Every Firmware for Android Devices are unique!
So you can not flash any RK3066 Firmware you can find, you need the right One for especially your Device. If that Tablet runs, just let it be as it is. Rk3066 runs good with 4.1.1!
This procedure should help you to flash Arnova G2, Arnova G3 or any tablet based on a Rockchip RK29xx CPU (such as the RK2918) or Rockchip RK30xx (such as the RK3066) using RKBatchTool.exe Rockchip low level flashing tool. It is especially useful for bricked device that do not boot anymore and can’t use the regular flashing method. Installing the drivers on the computer Following the tablet entering in flashing mode, the computer should now show it has found a new USB device and prompt for a device driver. Select the appropriate driver in the driver directory from the Rockchip Flash Tool 1.4 package, then select the right folder that corresponds to your computer platform and operating systems. There are 6 supported systems: in drivers 32bits folder you will find subdirectories for the following operating systems: ( Windows 2000 drivers, Windows XP, Vista and Win7 in 32 bits). In drivers 64bits you have directories supporting ( Windows Vista and Win7).
It will then install the driver for RK29 Device The setup wizard will display this screen when the driver installing is complete: 4. Transfering the firmware to the tablet The flashing tool should display a green square around the number 1 in the lower left area of the Windows application. Select the firmware file to flash using the button in the top right area of the application. Select the update.img file that you have prepared in the first steps. Note, the file can be named differently, it will be flashed anyway.
Push the Upgrade button to transfer the selected firmware to the tablet. It’s usually safer to use the Restore button rather than Upgrade to make sure the tablet system is properly erased prior to flash. The firmware will be copied to the tablet, a progression counter will go from 0% to 100% on this step, followed by a verification. You are done, let the tablet reboot and update itself. It should take a few minutes for the flash process to finish. This procedure has been successfully tested on Windows XP 32 bits and Windows 7 32 bits with Arnova 10 G2 and Arnova 8 G2 tablets. Troubleshooting If the device is not detected or if the driver does not install, here are a few things to check: – make sure your tablet is connect directly to the USB port on the computer, not thru a USB hub – make sure your USB cable is in good condition, if your cable looks defective, try with another cable – try to change Windows 7 Device Installation Settings: go to ‘Control Panel’ / ‘View Advanced system Settings’, on ‘ System Properties‘ window, select the ‘ Hardware‘ tab, click on ‘ Device Installation Settings‘ button.
On the “Device Installation Settings” window, choose ‘No, let me choose what to do‘ and ‘ Never install driver software from Windows update‘. Press ‘Save changes’ button. Reset your tablet, you should then be able to install the custom drivers. When the drivers are installed, you can change Device Installation Settings back on Windows 7. Device unknown issue In some configurations, it can happen that your tablet isn’t properly detected and you need to force the Rockchip driver install, here is how to proceed: Step A. Click on your Windows “ Start Button” in the bottom left of your screen, do a right click on the “ Computer” entry, you should see the menu on the picture below, left click on Properties Step B.
Control Panel window will open, you’ll first note the Windows Edition and System Type on the right side, you’ll need these information later when choosing the driver type. On the left side, you’ll click on the Device Manager link. Device Manager window will open, look in the “ Other devices” section in the list and search of an “ Unknown device” line Step D. Do a right click on the Unknown Device line, select Update Driver Software Step E. Click on the item named “ Browse my computer for driver software” Step F. Use the file browse to locate the directory where you unpacked the Rockchip Batch Tool and go inside the RockusbDriver directory.
From there, locate the directory corresponding to your system architecture as you noted in the earlier Step B. On our computer, we are using a Windows 7 64 bits machine, so we select amd64 win7 directory and we press the OK button. On our system the full selected path is the following: C: Users arctablet Desktop RockchipBatchToolv1.5 RockusbDriver amd64 win7 Step G. After you have selected the right path, you can press Next button. The following Windows Security dialog will open, you can safely click Install button to confirm the Rockchip driver installation.
The window below should confirm the success of the Rockchip driver installation: “Windows has successfully updated your driver software”. If you don’t get this screen but an error message, you will need to go back to the driver directory selection and try another architecture (see Step F.) Hi all, yesterday I spent hours and hours trying to get my new Cube flashed. Finally, I managed to do so, by messing with the config.ini fiile of Rockbatch Tool.
You wanna read through the entire post to get all of it. Although the flash instructions are clear, timing remains an issue and since the tablet remains dark, you really don't know if you're doing it right. Basically, the flash methods described are correct: 1. Shutdown tablet 2. Remove external SD card (if present) 3. Plugin USB cable into tablet 4.
Hold Vol+ and Power and connect USB to computer. When computer detects new device, release buttons (this is typically after 3-4 secs - if you hold longer, you will get to recovery mode (android bot with open belly) and you don't need to be there = use volume to bring up menu, use volume again to select 'reboot' and power button to confirm). It remains a bit of trial & error. Install driver from rockchip package. = See below 6.
Optional: Shutdown tablet (not necessary in my case, since I can see the device stays connected in Windows Device Manager) 7. Start Rockbatchtool after correcting the config.ini file = see below 8. Press Power & Volume+ to start tablet - will be recognized by Rockbatch tool (green button at connected devices) 9.
Load update image and click Restore wait until reboot Installing driver goes like this: 1. Windows / Open Control Panel (you wanna have this open before starting the above procedure) 2. Select 'System' 3. Open 'Device Manager' 4. Watch the list as it will change upon detection of a new device. It should add something like 'Class of Rockchip Devices' near the top of the list.
Rockchip Batch Tool V1.8
You'll see a device with a yellowish exclamation mark 5. Right click onto the new device and 'Install/Update Driver' 6. Choose the driver from 'My Computer' Now: as for the config.ini modification, I found on minixforums a post by user Snurb that does the trick. You open config.ini (located in the same folder where the.exe file is) and look for this line: LOGFLAG=TRUE #SUPPORTLOWUSB=TRUE时,扫描支持full speed usb设备,默认只支持high speed usb设备 SUPPORTLOWUSB= This you change into: LOGFLAG=TRUE #SUPPORTLOWUSB=TRUE时,扫描支持full speed usb设备,默认只支持high speed usb设备 SUPPORTLOWUSB=TRUE FULLSPEEDUSB=TRUE Save & close. Then you start Rockbatch Tool and all of a sudden, I had a green flashing light.
Ready to flash the new firmware! Hope this helps. Happy flashing! Roelski PS: the original post is here post #10. Roelski said Hi all, yesterday I spent hours and hours trying to get my new Cube flashed.
